'No idea what we're doing': New 'worship' song makes waves with 'bold embrace of theological confusion'
/Here at Encouraging Angels we are about ‘Music, Message and Testimony’. We take the ‘message’ that is inside our worship (Music) -very- seriously. I (Stan) am working on a new album of songs to God and about God as we know Him through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The Gospel itself is very simple. We were born sinners, unable to have a relationship with our Creator. That is why we need a Redeemer. His name is Jesus Christ. Jesus came to earth. He was and is, fully God and fully man. Jesus lived the perfect life that none member of humanity has ever lived-making Him the unblemished Lamb of God. His death on the cross is the only sacrifice acceptable to God the Father for payment for our sins. This payment for sin gives us the redemption we need if we accept Jesus Christ as our personal Lord (He is on the throne of our life; not us) and Savior (we accept His death on the cross as payment for our sins). If we repent of our sins and accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we are given eternal life. But as we live life we must get closer to God, get to know Him and most importantly, OBEY HIM. If we continue to sin as if the gift of eternal life means nothing then we are not obeying Him. We must keep our accounts short with God (by repenting to Him when we sin) and ABIDE IN HIM (John 15:1-8).
The Bible is very complete in its presention of God’s Word and the Gospel. For this church in the article to say ‘No idea what we are doing’ in a worship song is the height of biblical ignorance and whoever wrote it is certainly not trying to be obedient to the Lord: Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth‘ (2 Timothy 2:15 NIV)
Be careful who you let teach you and be like the Berans in the Book of Acts: ‘Now the Berean Jews were of more noble character than those in Thessalonica, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.’ (Acts 17:11 NIV)
